Having spent a large portion of my career in the field of recruitment, I've come to recognise the unique blend of nerves and excitement that comes with group interviews. While the idea of being evaluated in the presence of fellow candidates might initially trigger apprehension, I've also witnessed it as an excellent chance to showcase one's skills and set oneself apart from the rest.

Throughout my years in this industry, I've observed that group interviews serve as a valuable tool for employers, offering insights into how candidates navigate interpersonal dynamics, collaborate effectively, and assert themselves within a team environment. Drawing from my experience, I've honed in on the art of standing out, understanding that the ability to differentiate oneself can be a game-changer, tipping the scales in favour of leaving a lasting impression on the interviewers.

Be confident, not dominating

Confidence is crucial in a group interview, but it's essential to find a balance. Avoid coming off as domineering or overbearing, as it may repel others and overshadow your true abilities. Instead, show confidence through active participation, body language, and communication. Make eye contact, nod affirmatively when others speak, and always acknowledge their contributions.

Actively listen and engage

During the interview, show your problem-solving abilities by offering innovative suggestions and practical strategies. If the group faces a tricky question or scenario, take the lead to brainstorm solutions collaboratively.
