To become a real estate agent in Australia, there are a number of steps you need to follow.
Meet the eligibility requirements
Requirements may vary slightly depending on the state or territory, but in general, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a clean criminal record, and be of good character.
Complete a Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice
This is the minimum educational requirement to become a real estate agent in most parts of Australia. You can enroll in a Certificate IV course offered by a registered training organisation (RTO). This course typically covers topics such as property law, marketing, sales techniques, and ethical standards.
Gain practical experience
Many states and territories require you to complete a certain amount of practical experience working in the real estate industry under the supervision of a licensed real estate agent. This is usually referred to as a "work experience" or "work placement" component of your training.
Apply for a real estate licence
Once you have completed the required education and practical experience, you can apply for a real estate licence from the relevant regulatory authority in your state or territory. Pass the licensing exam

Join a real estate agency
In order to practice as a real estate agent, you typically need to be employed by a licensed real estate agency. Once you have obtained your licence, you can start looking for employment opportunities with established agencies in your area.
Continuing education
After becoming licensed, you'll need to keep up with continuing education requirements to maintain your licence. This ensures that you stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and best practices in the real estate industry.
