Congratulations – your CV will now be submitted to Aramco. If your application is successful, you will be invited to a short self-recorded video interview as the next step in the recruitment process.
This interview involves recording video responses to a series of pre-recorded questions. There will be no live interviewer present. Once completed, your responses will be reviewed by the Aramco hiring team.
Each question will be displayed on screen, and in most cases, you will be given a short amount of time to prepare before recording. You will then have a limited time to submit your answer. Please note that you do not have an option to redo the video recording.
It is important that you focus on the key selection criteria of the role and study the job advertisement. We strongly recommend you prepare answers with examples as your success will be determined by your ability to clearly demonstrate how your experience aligns with the key requirements of the role. Focus on specific situations where you have effectively carried out similar responsibilities, highlighting the outcomes and your contribution.
Whilst the self-recorded interview process is nothing to be intimidated by, it may be different to what you have experienced before, so it is important to approach it with preparation and professionalism. To prepare, we recommend that you do three to five practice recordings using your own computer or mobile phone. Choose a few sample questions, record your responses, and watch them back to assess your clarity, body language, and eye contact. This will help you become more comfortable speaking on camera and allow you to make any necessary adjustments before completing the actual interview.
To help you prepare for your self-recorded interview and know what to expect, I recommend watching the video below on what a live self-recorded interview involves. Additionally, take some time to familiarise yourself with Aramco to ensure you're well-informed about the company ahead of the interview.
Please make sure you are in a quiet, well-lit space with a reliable internet connection, and check that your camera and microphone are working correctly before starting the interview. It is recommended that you dress professionally, as you would for a face-to-face interview. Position yourself at eye level with the camera and look into the lens when speaking to maintain good engagement. Avoid reading directly from notes and aim to speak naturally and confidently.
When answering the questions, take a moment to gather your thoughts before you begin. Speak clearly and stay focused on the question being asked. Try to support your answers with specific examples from your previous experience. For questions that ask how you handled a situation or challenge, consider using the STAR method – this means explaining the situation, the task, the action you took, and the result. This helps you give a structured and clear response. If you make a mistake or lose your train of thought during your response, pause and continue as calmly as possible. Try to answer all parts of each question, especially if the question has more than one component.
From the team at 11 Recruitment, we wish you all the best with your application.
