Video job advertisement

Social media algorithms favour videos over still content, so we create video advertisements for all vacancies to help source our candidates.

The role

The Camp Manager is responsible for overseeing the running of the camp. This includes the management of staff, liaison with clients, and care for camps equipment and facilities. You will;

  • Endeavour to create and maintain a positive, friendly, and motivated work ethic around the camp
  • Set up camp and activities before the arrival of participants
  • Prepare daily schedules including before, during, and after activities 
  • Ensure staff, participants, and camp leaders are well informed of procedures and protocols
  • Assist in areas of maintenance

About you

You will receive the required training for this position. It is vital that you have a willingness to learn and be an enthusiastic "people-person". You will ideally have:

  • A passion for working with youth in an outdoor environment 
  • A positive attitude and demeanour 
  • Experience in a leadership position
  • The natural ability to form positive relationships with others
  • The ability to assess a situation rapidly and act decisively under pressure 
  • A manual driver’s license is essential
  • Experience working with marketing automation software
  • The ability to create lead magnets, conversion campaigns, sales pages etc.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic
  • A current driver’s licence

You will also need the ability to obtain your Bronze medallion, First Aid Certificate and a Working with Children Check. 

About our client

Our client is located in the Peel region and provides exciting yet challenging activities for school groups. They are located on 105 acres and accommodate around 80 camps per year – making them one of the leading providers of outdoor recreation programs in WA.

There is currently a passionate team running 16 different outdoor recreation activities, and they are seeking a Camp Activity Manager to manage this team. You will lead a team of 6 instructors whilst simultaneously facilitating outdoor educational programs.

Assessment Matrix design

Our in-house designed, custom made software generates an Assessment Matrix, which is our blueprint for the recruitment process. Our process consists of screening, interviews, document verification, skills testing, personality profiling and reference checks.

Together with the other required behaviours, this role requires a person who is happy to assume a supportive role and does not necessarily have an ambition to be the leader of the team but rather happy to be a proactive and supportive member of the team.

The role is likely to be fairly structured and the person needs to be comfortable following a procedure rigorously and to be fussy about detail and getting the job done completely. There is little change in the role and the person needs to be comfortable with a stable environment and doing the same job over a period of time. This role is unlikely to suit a person who is dynamic and looking for variety and change.

Additionally, this role requires a person with an eye for detail and analytical approach to problem solving and the ability to concentrate on details paying attention the need for precision and accuracy. The individual will be inclined to give due consideration to problems and may take time reaching a decision, due to the need to check their findings to ensure the job is done thoroughly.

This kind of role would normally, but not necessarily, take place in a relatively stable and structured environment, however there might well be occasions when the need for change and adaptability arises and this would require a more flexible approach on the part of the individual.
