DISC profile - Human Resource Manager

This role will require a person who is able to accept personal responsibility for achieving the desired outcomes required by the job. The ability to manage and direct others will also form an important aspect of the role. The individual will need to be able to concentrate on the practical aspects of the role and assess the facts rationally, without allowing personal views to impede progress.

Furthermore, this role requires an efficient approach and the ability to be impartial and prepared to make decisions regardless of their popularity. It will require an individual who has the conviction to stand by their decisions and the strength of character to withstand criticism and take a stand when persuasive tactics fail.

While the role is primarily about the ability on the individual’s behalf to approach problems systematically and objectively, there is also the need for them to be results-oriented and efficient. The need to see the job through to the end in a focused and committed manner will be part of what motivates the individual in the role.

In this role, procedures are defined and the individual will be expected to follow them. This is a role where there is not a huge amount of adaptability required and the individual should feel comfortable working in a stable, predictable environment. However there might well be occasions when the need for change and adaptability arises and this would require a more flexible approach on the part of the individual.

This position would best suit the type of person who is genuinely friendly towards others, and concerned about the welfare of fellow workers. The person should be steady and reliable and keen to provide a service.

The role requires someone who will tolerate doing repetitious work over an extended period of time without getting bored. The ideal person for this role will have an understanding of other people’s motivations and points of view and be able to approach them in a calm, rational and objective manner.

This role also requires someone who is efficient and results oriented and able to approach problems with an impartial view. There might be occasions when the individual will have to make decisions which might not be popular, however they will need to have the ability to stand up for the organisation and face criticism without taking it personally.
