  • Social media - LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter

Bookkeeper

  • Must have single touch payroll knowledge

The role

The duties for this role will include:

  • End-to-end bookkeeping - AP / AR, reconciliation, month and year-end 
  • Processing weekly payroll for 20 staff 
  • Preparing and lodging payroll tax, BAS and superannuation 
  • Issuing group certificates through one touch payroll 
  • Conducing monthly reporting 
  • Drafting employee documents and maintaining personal files 
  • Providing invoicing and distribution assistance to the Freight Logistics Coordinator
  • Communicating with all stakeholders (both verbal and written)

About you

The successful candidate will need:

  • Single Touch Payroll knowledge 
  • Solid Bookkeeping experience 
  • MYOB experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • The ability to investigate any discrepancies 
  • The ability to meet all statutory / internal deadlines 
  • The unrestricted right to work in Australia
  • The ability to provide a current National Police Clearance 
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail  
  • An understanding of foreign currency

The successful candidate must also be willing to undergo skills testing.

This role would best suit the type of person who is genuinely keen to provide a service. Such an individual should be happy with an unchanging routine and be amenable to receiving instructions from others, preferring not to be giving the instructions.

The role requires someone who will tolerate doing repetitious work over an extended period of time without getting bored and be able to concentrate on detailed work, focusing attention on the work at hand without being distracted by things going on around them.

The position would require a steady and patient type of individual, who does not easily become ruffled, as long as the environment is predictable. The role is unlikely to provide much variation and the sort of person who is best suited would be someone who is uncomfortable with change without warning. Given sufficient notice, the individual should be able to prepare for change and cope well, however, they would be quite uncomfortable if there is little time to prepare for the change.

The role requires someone who would need to work at a steady pace taking more time preparing, and consequently perhaps being more efficient over time, than a person who reacts with a sense of urgency.

This type of person is likely to specialise in this discipline and will have satisfaction from doing the job rather than by climbing up though the ranks of the organisation.
