Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy with over 20 years in the industry, provides specialised civil and road infrastructure services across Western Australia. Operating with a tight-knit team of 12 professionals, they focus on delivering high-impact projects, primarily servicing rural local government clients. This role plays a key part in the company’s operations, taking on responsibilities previously currently managed by the business owner of the organisation. About the opportunity
This role involves project management and providing technical expertise in civil infrastructure, road and drainage projects. A key focus is supporting local governments with funding applications, procurement processes, and contract administration.
In this role, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs, expectations, and working environments.
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports, funding submissions, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site inspections, liaise with contractors, and provide expert consultation.
  • Assist with tender processes, including preparation, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, financial, and environmental risks.

About you
We are seeking an inquisitive, solutions-driven individual with strong technical and project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a consultative mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (highly desirable) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of road construction methodologies, procurement, and project planning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience in preparing funding submissions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk assessment capabilities.
  • High-level communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
  • Experience in road and infrastructure projects.
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to remote locations.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

A health check (equivalent to a commercial driver’s medical) is required for this role.
