Position Overview
As a Medical Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our medical office. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within the healthcare setting, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, facilitating communication between healthcare professionals, and supporting patients through excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure timely follow-up for appointments and treatments.
- Prepare and process medical billing claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain confidential patient records and ensure compliance with privacy laws and medical regulations.
- Assist healthcare professionals with administrative tasks, including scheduling and coordinating patient referrals.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and general office tasks, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing patient concerns and ensuring excellent service.
- Maintain and update office systems and ensure timely processing of documentation.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification
- At least 2-3 years proven experience in a medical administration role or similar healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and billing/coding practices.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in office software and medical practice management systems.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience with insurance and claims management is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $74,000 + superannuation
