Our client is currently seeking a passionate and qualified Child Care Room Leader.
Position Description:
As a Child Care Room Leader at The Little Kids School, you will play a vital role in the development, well-being, and safety of children in our care. This position involves working with and managing a team to care for and educate children of various age groups, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Provide direct care and supervision to children in a group setting.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for children, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with daily routines, including feeding, dressing, and toileting.
- Encourage positive behaviours and provide guidance in conflict resolution.
- Monitor children’s progress and report any concerns to parents or supervisors.
- Build trusting relationships with children and families to foster a supportive and welcoming environment.
- Support children in developing social, cognitive, and motor skills.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance with childcare licensing standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma in Early Education and Childcare, completed or actively working towards (or equivalent).
- At least one year experience working with children.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations, demonstrating understanding and empathy toward children.
- Ability to address conflicts and behavioural issues effectively.
- Works well in a collaborative team environment to meet the needs of children and families.
- Creativity in planning and leading engaging, fun, and educational activities for children of various ages.
Salary: $70.000 – $80.000 p.a. plus superannuation + superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
