About the opportunity
This role involves supporting the finance team by managing end-of-month processes, ensuring payroll accuracy, and preparing financial reports. The position requires a focus on detail, strong reconciliation skills, and compliance with statutory requirements. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager, providing an excellent opportunity to develop under experienced leadership.
In this role, you will be part of a finance team that manages the complex financial operations of a hospitality venue. This includes overseeing multiple revenue streams such as ticket sales, food and beverage outlets, merchandise, and special events. The role requires handling high-volume transactions and adapting to seasonal business fluctuations. Additionally, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining the financial stability of the organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Process end-of-month journals including prepayments, accruals, and provisions
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes including superannuation, FBT, PAYG, and payroll tax
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing and reconciling company credit cards and petty cash
- Ensure timely and accurate financial and revenue reports
- Submit statutory reports and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
The duties involve close collaboration with department managers, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
About you
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial reporting, payroll processing, revenue reconciliation, and debtor/creditor management.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience with financial reporting and month-end processes
- Proficiency in payroll processing and statutory compliance
- Strong skills in revenue reporting and reconciliation
- Effective debtor and creditor management capabilities
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
