The Canopy is seeking an Executive Officer to provide direct support to the Board of Management. The role will assist the Board in actively leading quality outcomes for families, children, and communities through the vision of the organisation.   • Provide executive leadership for the strategic direction of the company
  • Provide program and project leadership, initiating long-term projects
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on strategic issues
  • Provide strategic and operational advice, including advisory and compliance matters
  • Develop business plans to meet complex and/or critical operational and financial objectives
  • Work with the Finance and Administration Managers to ensure budgets reflect strategic priorities
  • Oversee recruitment, performance appraisals, and performance management strategies where applicable

 

About You

  • Degree in Social Work, Social Science or equivalent relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven Management experience (ideally in a not for profit incorporated association) including strategic planning and business/service development, staff supervision, policy development, risk management and occupational health and safety
  • Proven experience in leading, building and maintaining collaborative strategic partnerships that result in innovative service delivery
  • A sound understanding of the links between casework and community work
  • Proven ability to strategically pursue funding streams for growth and sustainability
  • Proven ability to lead change within the organisation and within the broader sector
  • Highly developed leadership and staff supervision skills
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, problem solving and mediation skills
  • Sound computer skills
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Driver’s Licence and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
