SMYL Community College is a referral only ‘Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education' (CARE) School that caters specifically for students who have disengaged from mainstream education at government secondary schools.  The College offers a full-time alternative education programme under the School Education Act 1999 (WA) for 14 to 17 year olds.All students referred to the College have significant barriers to education. Teaching and learning is adjusted, and support services provided, to meet students’ needs. As a CARE school the College ‘provides a programme of study meeting the needs of an individual student delivered through an Individual Education Plan’.The College is looking for a highly motivated Careers Counsellor with a passion for assisting young people realise and reach their potential.This is a professionally challenging and rewarding position.  The students at SMYL typically have a poor record of participation and/or achievement in their preceding year(s) at school.
