ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is Australia’s leading steel provider. They are committed to keeping up with modern technology whilst maintaining the highest standards of service. Progressively, they have offered specialist steel processing facilities to the mining, construction, engineering, and general fabrication industries by demonstrating their pride in offering excellent quality, and excellent service.

They are seeking a CNC Programmer for their site in Welshpool, looking specifically for someone who shares the same customer-centric values.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary duties of this position include drawing and scheduling, calculating quotations, and managing the team in conjunction with the State Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, operation, and performance of all machines including the machines operators and ancillary staff.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reading and programming CNC codes
  • Interpreting and reviewing drawings from engineers
  • Drawing components to be cut by machines
  • Monitor the dimensions of drawn components
  • Minimise waste by nesting components
  • Control offcuts, minimizing full plates being used on machines
  • Schedule machines to reduce customer lead time
  • Liaise with operations regarding scheduling and efficiency
  • Ensure the operators comply with special instructions for customer satisfaction
  • Calculate quotations for materials, and follow-up on quotes as appropriate

With this, the successful candidate must be customer focused, with a passion for ensuring customer orders are manufactured and delivered to correct specifications, and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications as an CNC Programmer
  • Strong adherence to OH&S policies
  • A good understanding of tooling selection and procedures
  • Competence in understanding and interpreting customer specifications and one-dimensional engineering drawings
  • The ability to manage all aspects of the production process, material flow, and machine utilisation
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
